The statue of Sasuntsi Davit (David of Sasoun) is the symbol of Armenian epic glory and in itself represents the Armenian nation. The impressive and capturing statue of Sasuntsi Davit was sculptured by outstanding Armenian sculptor Yervand Kochar in 1959, who in 1940's had made the original statue out of clay and which later on served as a model for the completed copper version of the original. The statue is located in the heart of Yerevan, next to the entrance of the main train station of Yerevan
